1. What is your full name? Hyuuga Hinata
2. Where and when were you born? I was born in the Hidden Leaf village, Konoha, in the Hyuuga family compound on December 27th.
3. Who are/were your parents? Do you have any siblings? My mother died bearing my sister, so within the main family there is just three of us. Myself, my younger sister Hanabi, and my father Hiashi. My sister is a credit to the Hyuuga name, fierce and determined in her combat training, cool and decisive in public matters. She is often cold and withdrawn when interacting with me, though I prefer this distance to being hateful. My father is the clan head, and he bears up admirably under the pressure of such an old family name. He is also...withdrawn. He is harsh, as I do not excel as my sister does, yet I am his eldest and heir. I often find my own training with my team or alone, is a relief no matter that it last far longer than my father's lessons.
5. What is your occupation? I am a ninja of Konoha!
6. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? Um, I train a great deal. When I am not....I...i like flowers? I gather herbs and make salves, and sometimes I will make lotions from the flowers I pick. And sometimes I watch Naruto. He is very inspiring.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. I am short still, but I am stronger than I look! My hair is short a little above my shoulders and a very dark blue. I have the Hyuuga eyes, white are milky silver with no pupil. I have had people tell me I look blind and creepy. That is...that is alright. My skin is pale because I wear many layers all the time. I wear my coat, which is tan with a fur ruff, and dark blue pants above my sandals. I rarely take off my jacket, but when I do I have a dark blue training top and netting.
8. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? My teammates have helped me develop my own jutsu, the family jutsu is...it is hard for me. They helped me train in secret and on our latest mission i successfully performed it! I did not know I could hold it against a summon, but I did, and we defeated the rival ninjas! Naruto-kun was watching it all...and he told me I am strong.
9. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? I am optimistic?
10. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? I am polite, even on missions. It is never harmful to be so, and so much easier to interact with people when it is formalities. I...I do not like to meet people's eyes, and I know I blush easily. Sometimes I stutter when I am embarrassed, and I poke my fingertips together as well.
11. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? A ninja must always be able to improvise as situations change, and I can! I do like plans though. A routine is comforting.
12. What is your greatest strength as a person? I...am not a strong person. I am weak and overly compassionate. I would rather negotiate than force anyone...but I am a good team mate. When I am with Shino, Kiba, and Akamaru i feel stronger. i can stand with them...and I do not hold them back. I believe this.
13. What is your greatest weakness? I cannot learn well. I have been in training for years and still my father would not care if I were to die. I have not mastered the family jutsu and I will not use the seal against the branch family members...
14. What role do you play in canon? (Antagonist, protagonist, hero's best friend, love interest, etc.) One sided hero love interest, protagonist.

1. What is your goal for this character? Hinata is a shy girl with little to no sense of self-worth. I want her to build up her own self confidence and seek out a role in life in Konoha that is not that laid out for her.
2. Name three things you want this character to face during the cycle: 1) I want her to gain friends that are not her teammates. She has a hard time reaching out, and therefor is dismissed by most the central canon characters. 2) I want her to help escort and protect someone in their world, a self-appointed mission that she can succeed in, as most of her missions fail, or she sees her portions of such as failing. 3) I want her to realize the difference between inspiration, idolization, and love.
3. Write 300-700 words explaining the canon, any alternate universe changes made to the original canon, and when/where you have taken the character from. Alternate universe characters will be expected to write more than straight canon characters: Hinata graduated from the academy no sooner and no later than the rest of her class. She was placed on a three man team to start training as a Jounin 'apprentice ninja' under the care of a more experienced Ninja, Kurenai. When Kurenai paid the requisite visit to her student's father, she was informed by Hiashi, with Hinata listening, that she need not worry herself over Hinata's safe return from missions because her death would make way for the younger Hyuuga to inherit. This angered her teammates, but Hinata accepted it as simple fact.
From that point forward it was almost as if the team and teacher took extra care of Hinata, spending most of their time together, and as such, Kurenai became a substitute mother figure for Hinata. She has learned, slowly, to accept casual touch from her teammate Kiba, as he and his family are very loud and physically affectionate. She has learned to use her sight ability to help Shino collect his bugs on days off...in short, she has learned many, many ways not to be at home. She eats often with both her teammates families, though she insists on packing the afternoon lunches for each training session. She likes to take care of her team, as much as she is able.
In an effort to prove herself stronger, Hinata agreed to enter the Chuunin exams with her team. It was a terrifying time, and though she made it to the preliminary finals, she was defeated and nearly killed by her own cousin Neji. She found the strength to not give up in the battle, but her cousin, while being of the branch family, is a prodigy, and managed to severely damage most of her internal organs. She spent the remainder of the exams in the hospital, once the teachers intervened to prevent her death.
Neji, conversely, managed to impress Hinata's father, and as an excuse to draw him further into the Hyuuga life, he engaged Neji as a bodyguard and trainer for Hinata. It was an insult that Hinata swallowed, because though she learned Neji hated her, she had always held the hope of him liking her as real family does, calling him Neji-neesan (brother) up until the exams. Neji takes his role seriously, training and dogging Hinata's steps, but he leaves her alone in the company of her teammates. Her teammates impressions of Neji are far less than favorable, though the relationship between Hinata and her cousin has softened considerably. Shino was the only member of her team to attain Chuunin 'journeyman' status, but given Orochimaru's invasion of the exams and the subsequent reconstruction and battles, Team 8 was kept together as a unit.
Most recently, Naruto failed to retrieve Sasuke from Orochimaru, and has been plaguing the Hokage since about rescue missions. Team 8 offered the idea of finding the Bikochou (a legendary bug) to deter him, as it can trace scents even years later. The mission itself was a failure due to Naruto, but Hinata and her team overcame great odds in the form of opposing ninjas and demonic bee attacks. In fact, Hinata excelled, her teammate Shino holding Naruto back when the idiot would have interfered in her battle.
Note: It is my intention to allow Naruto and Sasuke to kill each other off once Naruto comes from his three year training course and goes off in search. There will be a serious of events leading up to this, and perhaps even plots in the aftermath as Konoha deals with its enemies and the release of the Demon Nine tails.
